[F] Total weight of babies: _____g.     [H] Number in litter: ____.

BEFORE YOU BEGIN

Write only in the white squares.

Record all weights in grams.  Be accurate to within a tenth of a gram.  Ex.: 45.7g.

Even though mouse gestation is 18-21 days, I have included more lines in case your doe doesn’t conceive right away.

Thank you for your help in collecting this data!

WHAT YOU DO

     1.  Weigh your doe before putting her in with the buck.  This is the pre-conception weight [A].  Starting in the upper left corner, mark in all the consecutive dates, except for lines [B] and [D].

     2.  Weigh your doe every day at the same time of day and record her weight and the date.  If you miss a day, write a dash.  It’s OK.  I still want your data!

     3.  In the third week of pregnancy, your doe may gain up to 2-5g per day.  When this gain suddenly drops by about 50%, your doe will probably deliver within 24 hours.  This is the pre-delivery weight [B].  (Skip to [B] on the chart.  Fill in weight and date.)

     4.  If you immediately email me numbers [A] and [B] and I will email you a prediction!

     5.  Weigh your doe as soon as you have discovered she has delivered.  This is the post-delivery weight [D].

     6.  Weigh all your newborn bubs, including dead ones, as soon as possible after they’re born and record their total weight [F] and how many there are [H].

     7.  Mail or email this sheet to:  Mrs. Beach, 10324 Castlehedge Terrace, Silver Spring, MD  20902-5807, ann.marlowe@verizon.net.
